David W Palmer, Community Owner, Auburn, Washington, USA

a poet’s heart
breaks not as much for suffering
but that the world is as it is
when it could be much more
and thus his restless heart

an artist’s eye
seeks for beauty
suggesting questions
“what if?” and “why not?”
that we may hunger more

blessed be God’s messengers
prophets in the village square
asking troubling questions
that passers-by can’t shake
until they find answers
