About Ross:

I started writing poetry in 2015 and have now written more than one-thousand poems, brief and short. I began writing romance poetry, but evolved into the spiritual realm.  In addition to being a poet, I am also an artist, sculptor and musician.

I grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas where my favorite artistic expression was sculpting faces.  One I am most proud of is a bust of Jesus, which, to this day, is still in my mother’s home.

I served two years in the U.S. Army and since then have been a hair stylist for the past 30 years. I continued exploring my art mainly in portraits of Native Americans. At first, I sought to use these to illustrate my poems, but my poetry outgrew my painting in many varied subjects.  Poetry evolved spontaneously for me, and I do look forward to publishing it some time in the near future.

Among the lights at night
Only your rose perfume
Still stays and navigates my mind
And the thought of so many things
That awaken the desire
To start loving you

Awakening in the fragility of love
To the intensity of feelings in the red
Your hands in mine
And the heart that beats where there is
No escape

will you forget my love
when I won't have something to give you
when I won't have something to show you
when I won't have another song to sing
for you
when there won't be another heart to sing 
to you

you know me much too well
for all that I can tell
that's all I'll ever have to give to you
the thoughts of an open heart
is all that I'll ever have to give to you
I never really meant to hurt you

the only place where I belong
has always been inside the heart with you
all I have to say is that I want you

That always lived in wonder
Mesmerized in time by the living
Of a love that just went by
It did not stop by your side
In the world you built within
It just kept on going back
to the horizon

To reach that sweet dream of wonder

More concerned with building a wall at the border of his feelings
Instead of building a bridge to the heart
his vessel will continue to be empty

They come in many faces
They have a certain glow emanating
They whisper words of love
And console the broken hearted
And light the way
In that direction 

I sat under this tree yesterday
And sweet words whispered to me

Take a look inside yourself ,
