I Knew
When I came to
Begun to know myself
I was barely five
Sitting on the back porch
A sudden storm was brewing
My whole Vista
Covered by a panorama
Of billowing black thunderheads
So close I almost touched them
I knew then that was how
The blue black mountains looked
I could picture myself
Sitting way up there
On the shoulder of a peak
That night as I perused the stars
I knew also that there was
More than the six planets
I could see with my naked eyes
My home was an open one
All types and kinds of personalies
I knew then as I looked
With knowing unjudgemental eyes
Upon those around me
That I would ever be obsessed
With humanity and human nature
Yes , and I knew also
That all environs were my home
For the earth loved me
I loved her in return
I can cure your hate with love .
Begun to know myself
I was barely five
Sitting on the back porch
A sudden storm was brewing
My whole Vista
Covered by a panorama
Of billowing black thunderheads
So close I almost touched them
I knew then that was how
The blue black mountains looked
I could picture myself
Sitting way up there
On the shoulder of a peak
That night as I perused the stars
I knew also that there was
More than the six planets
I could see with my naked eyes
My home was an open one
All types and kinds of personalies
I knew then as I looked
With knowing unjudgemental eyes
Upon those around me
That I would ever be obsessed
With humanity and human nature
Yes , and I knew also
That all environs were my home
For the earth loved me
I loved her in return
I can cure your hate with love .
